I INSTALLED THE CHARGE PORT FOR MY FUTURE MODEL S

Today I installed the KEBA KeContact P 20 wallbox in my garage. As Tesla does not (yet) provide their own Tesla branded wallbox in Switzerland (so no automatic opening of the charge port for us) they point you towards several vendors that provide such solutions.

I got the recommended wallbox for the Model S with a 6 meter cable – just in case. Installation was a breeze. It has an optional cable holder which I also installed. In the coming weeks the electrician will connect it to power as this is something I definitely don’t want to mess with. After all, the thing will be connected to a 32Amp outlet.

It does not look as nice as the Tesla box and the inner geek in me would love if the thing had more blinking lights ; )

Below are some pics of the wallbox and my current EV – the Chevy Volt.

The VOLT is slightly shorter than the Model S : )
The wallbox is installed at the front left of the garage – right next to where the Model S charge port will be in about 6 weeks : )
